OFFLINE

Download DuPont NutriScholars Awards application form in .pdf format. Take a print and fill-up the details. On completion, scan and upload the application form with mentor signatures in .pdf format file on the program website or email as attachments to info@dupontnutrischolars.com to complete your contest registration.

ONLINE

MENTOR DETAILS

PHASE 1: PRELIMINARY SELECTION

Important points: Please read carefully before submission in chosen offline as well as online mode
  1. Participating teams should submit complete product design proposals in the prescribed application format only before the deadline for phase 1 (September 15, 2017). Proposals received after September 15 will not be accepted.
  2. Completed applications (in both .doc format and PDF) must be submitted either by email (info@dupontnutrischolars.com) or uploaded on program website www.dupontnutrischolars.com.
  3. The proposal should contain titles and abstracts in English, category under which it is being submitted (same application cannot be submitted under different categories).
  4. Product design proposal section must include:
    • A brief description on the innovative food product idea and a summary on uniqueness, feasibility and technical process.
    • A detailed description on the product, formulation, method of adding DuPontTM Danisco® ingredients, market potential, price/cost, evaluation of nutritional ingredients, production process (quality and safety control steps, etc.) and packaging.
    • References must be marked. All references cited within the proposal must follow Journal of Food Science formatting. References list must be submitted as a separate PDF document with the proposal document.
    • The abstract and proposal should be printed in 11pt Arial font in single spacing format and the proposal should not exceed 5 pages (excluding the table of contents and references). All text and figures must be on A4 paper (21 cm × 29.7 cm) size.
    • Preliminary proposal may include a 5" × 7" color photograph of the proposed product. Additional images throughout the report are optional.
    • The information of each participant in the team such as name, school and university, class/grade and contact information (phone number and email address) should be submitted as a separate document in the given application format and should not appear within the abstract and proposal.
  5. Selection panel for Phase 1 will comprise of DuPont experts and selected academicians. The proposal from each participating university will be evaluated according to the scoring criteria by the expert panel lists.
  6. The organizing and selection committee will preliminarily review and score each of the submitted proposals, and select at least 15 finalists for the grand finale.
  7. All the finalist teams will obtain the DuPontTM Danisco® ingredients and supporting experiment fund of INR 10,000 offered by DuPont Nutrition & Health.
  8. The intellectual property rights of the winning idea will be mutually owned by the participants and DuPont Nutrition & Health.
  9. DuPont Nutrition & Health have the right to use relevant formula and picture information in market development or other activities. Should DuPont Nutrition & Health develop a product based on the entries submitted by the participants, they will take consent from the participants. The participants agree that they shall give DuPont Nutrition & Health priority and right of first refusal to be the technology/product submitted in this competition. The participants shall not transfer the formula or technology of their winning idea to other parties without the explicit written consent of DuPont Nutrition & Health.
